- The Energy Regulatory Commission has decided to raise the fuel tariff (FT) included in electricity charges for three months, from May to Aug 22.
- Accordingly, the cost of electricity would be raised to THB4 per kilowatt hour.
- ERC spokesman Khomkrit Tantrawanich said the increase was mainly due to the impact of the Russian war on Ukraine.
- An additional factor behind the increase was the declining supply of natural gas from the Gulf of Thailand.
