Thailand: Return of tourism still on for Oct 21

• Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has confirmed Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chiang Mai will begin implementing their tourism reopening plans on 1 Oct 21 as planned.
• Twenty-one other provinces will follow suit on 15 Oct 21, he said 14 Sep 21 dispelling doubts over whether the government would be able to proceed with its plan in the face of the ongoing pandemic. Mr Phiphat admitted the high numbers of new Covid-19 infections are the main hindrance but the ministry is fully prepared for the reopening.
