Thailand: 200 join ‘no delay’ protest

  • About 200 people have joined the protest against a possible delay of the general election at the Ratchaprasong intersection in Bangkok.
  • The aim of the demonstration is to get the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to confirm the poll would be held on 24 Feb 19 as previously planned.
  • Mr Anon, the leader of the protest, noted that there will be serious consequences should the delay occur and the poll may be nullified if it is not held within the 150-day window that ends on 9 May 19.
