Malaysia: Court of Appeal brings forward hearing on Anwar’s case to 18 Mar 21

• The Court of Appeal here on 27 Jan 21 brought forward to 18 Mar 21 from 28 Jul 21 the hearing on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s and the Pardons Board’s appeal against the High Court’s refusal to strike out a challenge brought by lawyer Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz against the pardon obtained by the opposition leader for his second sodomy conviction.
• The Court of Appeal had on 27 Jan 21 fixed the 18 Mar 21 hearing date as the court had time to hear the case on that day.
• Mohd Khairul is represented by lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla while Anwar is represented by lawyer J Leela.
• The hearing was originally scheduled earlier in Jan 21.
