International tourist arrivals beat target in 2022

  • The number of international tourist arrivals in 2022 surpassed the target of 5.2mn for 2022, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said on 6 Feb.
  • Compared to Dec 21, there was an increase of 447.08% in the number of international tourist arrivals in Dec 2022. Compared to Nov 22, the figure reflected an increase of 36.19%.
  • According to the minister, Singapore was the top country of origin for international tourists visiting Indonesia (20.15%), followed by Malaysia (17.89%), Australia (11.42%), Timor Leste (8.4%) and India (5.61%).
  • The increase in the number of international tourist arrivals was also followed by an increase in the room occupancy rate at star-rated hotels, which almost reached 57%, or an increase of 5.33% compared to 2021.
