Indonesia misses state revenue target by 37.7% in May 20

  • Indonesia posted state revenue of IDR664.3tr in the 2020 state budget as of 31 May 20, or 37.7% of targeted IDR1,760.9tr in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 54 of 2020, the Finance Ministry stated.
  • “In comparison with May 19, state revenue contracted by 9%,” Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati remarked here on 16 Jun 20.
  • Non-tax state revenue (PNBP) during the period had reached IDR136.9tr, or plunged 13.6% from 2019 and was only 46% of the target set at IDR297.8tr.
  • Meanwhile, state expenditure as of 31 May 20 has reached IDR843.9tr, or 32.3% of the allocation reaching IDR2,613.8tr in accordance with Perpres No. 54 of 2020.
  • The expenditure comprised IDR270.4tr of ministry/institution expenditure that contracted by 6.2% y/y.
  • Non-ministry/institution expenditure rose by 10% to reach IDR267tr, while fund transfer to regional administrations had touched IDR306.6tr, or contracted 5.7% y/y.
  • As of May 20, the budget deficit had reached IDR179.6tr, of the total deficit assumption at IDR852.9tr.
