India: 61.2 million e-way bills generated for inter-state commerce in Nov 21

• In Nov 21, a total of 61.2 million e-way bills were generated for inter-state commerce under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, which is the lowest in five months.
• This reflects moderation in goods dispatches post-festivities.
• Meanwhile, e-way bills were at a record in Oct 21 at 73.5 million, the highest since the indirect tax regime was rolled out in Jul 17.
• In the first five days of Dec 21, the daily e-way bill generation stood at 211,000, indicating possibility of demand pick up ahead of year-end vacations.
