Hong Kong-China border reopens with a daily quota of 60,000

  • Chief executive John Lee said that, from 8 Jan, up to 50,000 Hong Kong residents can register online to cross the border daily at three land checkpoints, with another 10,000 allowed to enter by air, sea, and bridge routes.
  • Those crossing the border will still be required to present a negative nucleic acid test result taken 48 hours before departure.
  • will cancel flight capacity limits from Hong Kong and Macau and will resume flight transits to the mainland. The high-speed rail service between the two will resume by 15 Jan.
