Government defends job creation regulation

  • Manpower minister Ida Fauziyah has defended the job creation regulation (perppu), saying that it demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing adaptive protection to workers and ensuring business continuity.
  • She argued that the provisions regarding outsourcing now limit the forms of work that can be handed over to outsourcing companies, and the permitted list will be regulated and monitored by the government.
  • The regulation also makes improvements and adjustments to the calculation of the minimum wage, which will now consider economic growth, inflation, and certain indexes. The formula for minimum wage calculation has been stipulated in the regulation.
