Indonesia: Govt targets IDR1.61qd in tax revenue for 2018 – 16 Aug 2017

  • The government has set a target to collect IDR1.61qd (USD120.3bn) in tax revenue in 2018, according to the proposed 2018 state budget read by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during the House of Representatives plenary session in Jakarta on 16 Aug 17.
  • The figure is 9.3% higher than the amount earmarked in the revised 2017 state budget. The government expects to book IDR1.88qd in state revenue in 2018. State expenditure is set at IDR2.20qd and government spending at IDR1.44qd, while IDR761.1tr is set aside for regional transfers and village funds.
  • With the plan, the state budget deficit is estimated to stand at IDR325.9tr, 2.19% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
